I just downloaded two of my restore points from WPEngine -- a manually created restore point and one of their daily restore points. wp-content/ is included. wp-content/themes and wp-content/plugins are there. However, wp-content/uploads/ is not there.
Interesting. I do see that in a number of places WPEngine refers to their backups as "complete filesystem and database" (http://support.wpengine.com/disallowed-plugins/) or "files and database" (http://wpengine.com/pricing/) -- so I suspect that either:
a) the wp-content/uploads folder is backed up somewhere -- just maybe not available via restore points??
- or -
b) my restore points are different because we're using git integration? (I know for sure that wp-content/uploads is not managed via git).
Rose, can you follow up with that support thread to find out more about what specifically is and isn't backed up and share that with the rest of us?

I'm on Host Gator and while I can add the service where they back up the
Home Directory and DB for me, I do it myself. Simple as can be.
Your Home Directory includes everything, including the Public Html folder,
which includes all your wp folders.
