IWelcome to the Edinburgh Cinema Group and the world of movie lovers. This cinema group is now the sister group to The Edinburgh High Brow/Low Brow Culture Group and entirely dedicated to film in all its guises.
This group is completely free to all members; I will not be charging any subscription dues - ever! Members buy their own cinema tickets but the group offers exclusive discounts at selected cinemas for members. In return all that is asked of the membership is that they regularly log into the website to remain active, and if they RSVP to a film they turn up (or change their RSVP if they can no longer go). This group does operate a 3 No Show policy.
The Edinburgh Cinema Group has grown since it's first year and we've seen 1000+ films so far. Let's keep the group vibrant* and as dynamic as the Culture Group. The best way is for members to get involved. Favourite cinemas with the group are The Filmhouse and The Cameo.

FILM EVENT PROMOTERS: This cinema group is a social group and its organisers decide what will be posted as film events for its membership. It is not a free listings website or a what's-on guide to Edinburgh. Please don't ask to promote your film event on this group's Meetup site. Please don't join the group as a member to attempt to post your event for ‘free’ publicity. It's not nice - I pay a subscription to Meetup so I don’t appreciate organisations assuming they can piggyback off of that for their own gain. If you do, your event won't be announced to the group, and you will be barred from the group.
* Please keep logging into the website to keep your membership active, as inactive memberships (members who don't log in for more than 6 consecutive months) will be cancelled.
