All About Sencha Touch 2

Sencha Touch 2 (http://www.sencha.com/blog/announcing-sencha-touch-2/) hit the streets on March 6, so now is a great time to check it out and talk about what's new in the leading mobile web app framework. Let's get together for an overview and basic demo of building and packaging a Touch 2 app from scratch.

I'm also very pleased to announce that we'll have a guest speaker this month. Truong-An Thai is the lead web developer for Flocasts (http://www.flocasts.com/), a media startup here in Austin centered around sport verticals driven by video content and community. Truong has worked at Flocasts since 2007 and was a Java developer at IBM before that. With no prior background in Sencha technologies, Truong built the Flosports (http://www.flocasts.com/page/FloSports) mobile app using Sencha Touch 2 and deployed it to both the Apple (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/flosports/id506486216) and Google (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flocasts.Flosports) app stores. Flosports connects passion driven sport participants and fans with the content they crave through videos, blogs and photos from competitive events, athletes and coaches.

Truong will be discussing his experience developing and deploying a Sencha Touch app in the real world, and I'm sure he'll have plenty of good advice for other developers considering doing the same. Please download the app and check it out!
