What: Dancing with the Ancients World Healing Ceremony

When: Tuesday, August 24,[masked]:45 PM

Where: "The Onion" Historical Landmark
9550 Haskel Ave.
North Hills, CA 91343

The Dancing with the Ancients World Healing Ceremony, sponsored by the Spiritual Unity Movement (SUM), will be presented at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, August 24 at The Onion Historical Landmark, 9550 Haskell Ave. in North Hills (near the I-405 and Nordoff). SUM is an all-denominational, non-profit organization dedicated to honoring and celebrating the truth that exists at the heart of all faith traditions.

Keynote speaker Freddie Chavez?s talk title is ?Dancing with the Ancients?. He will also perform alongside his group, the Ajolote Circle of Aztec Dancers in honoring the Earth with songs, dance, music and drum rhythms of the ancient Mexica tradition native to Indigenous Mexico.

The Ajolote Circle of Aztec Dancers was formed four years ago in response to the needs of the youth. Danza Azteca (Aztec Dance) provides creativity, discipline, harmony and the cultural expression of the Ancient Native Ancestors. As a Chicano/Mexicano descendant of the Mexica, original people of this indigenous land, Freddie Chavez and his sons Joaquin and Emiliano provide the songs and dances taught to the Ancestors who came into harmony with the animal and plant world of this continent known as Anahuac.

There will also be a Ceremonial Beach Party Drum Circle at the Thornhill Broome Campground, 9000 W. Pacific Coast Highway, Point Mugu State Park, Malibu, California on Saturday, August 28. The ceremonies will begin at 5:00pm but you can arrive as early as you like Saturday and camp overnight if you choose. Bring food for dinner, chairs, blankets, flashlight, etc. in preparation for meditation, drumming and dancing around the fire.

The president of SUM, Patrick Harbula, says that the organization encourages people from all religious and philosophical backgrounds to link together in unified spiritual service through the practice of prayer and meditation. Harbula says, ?Imagine all the religions of the world praying together for world healing and harmony. We are at a crucial time in our planetary history when it is not only possible but essential to go beyond the belief systems that separate various spiritual paths to the heart of spiritual service where we find unity.?

These monthly World Healing Meditation Ceremonies sponsored by the Spiritual Unity Movement (SUM) are held at or near the time of the full moon to be in harmony with ancient traditions honoring the sacred mother and natural rhythms of the universe. Each and every World Healing Ceremony includes an Honoring the World Religions Ceremony, world-renowned keynote speakers, live inspirational music, guided meditation, deep meditation, world blessing ritual, and a 15-minute forum on the theme of the evening conducted by the keynote speaker directly following the closing ritual.

There is a $10 suggested donation (or whatever is comfortable) for this event, and because we are an all-denominational organization, we accept denominations of all sizes.
