The Dance to Glory World Healing Ceremony, sponsored by the Spiritual Unity Movement (SUM), will be presented at 6:55 p.m. Saturday, October 23 at The Onion Historical Landmark, 9550 Haskell Ave. in North Hills (near the I-405 and Nordoff). SUM is an all-denominational, non-profit organization dedicated to honoring and celebrating the truth that exists at the heart of all faith traditions. The keynote speaker and will also serve as musician is Rev. Tasnim Fernandez. She will be leading the Dances of Universal Peace.

Rev. Tasnim Hermila Fernandez, a Sufi minister, is co-founder of Peace Works: International Network for the Dances of Universal Peace, and spiritual director of the Church of All in Burbank, California. Born in Mexico City, Rev. Tasnim awakened to the inner life of spirit in her late teens. She was initiated into the way of the Sufis by Hazrat Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan in 1971, and serves the Sufi Order International as a representative and center leader, a healing conductor, and as a minister (cherag) of the Universal Worship. She was ordained by Pir Vilayat as a Siraj in November 2000. This ordination enables and authorizes her to train and to ordain new ministers of the Universal Worship.

Tasnim Hermila is recognized and acclaimed as one of the foremost leaders and mentors of the Dances. Her students have received a sound foundation in the dances and walks as well as the spiritual transmission of this work which have prepared them to carry on the work and to now train others. She is the spiritual director of the Church of All in Burbank. Tasnim gives personal guidance to her Sufi mureeds, trains and certifies Dance leaders, trains and ordains Universal Worship ministers, conducts seminars, workshops, and camps and is a presenter at conferences and festivals.

The president of SUM, Patrick Harbula, says that the organization encourages people from all religious and philosophical backgrounds to link together in unified spiritual service through the practice of prayer and meditation. Harbula says, ?Imagine all the religions of the world praying together for world healing and harmony. We are at a crucial time in our planetary history when it is not only possible but essential to go beyond the belief systems that separate various spiritual paths to the heart of spiritual service where we find unity.?

These monthly World Healing Meditation Ceremonies sponsored by the Spiritual Unity Movement (SUM) are held at or near the time of the full moon to be in harmony with ancient traditions honoring the sacred mother and natural rhythms of the universe. Each and every World Healing Ceremony includes an Honoring the World Religions Ceremony, world-renowned keynote speakers, live inspirational music, guided meditation, deep meditation, world blessing ritual, and a 15-minute forum on the theme of the evening conducted by the keynote speaker directly following the closing ritual.

There is a $10 suggested donation (or whatever is comfortable) for this event, and because we are an all-denominational organization, we accept denominations of all sizes.

Spiritual Unity Movement offers "Meditation Classes", "Meditation Training", "Meditation Group", "Spiritual Healing", "Spiritual Ceremony" and "Spiritual Prayer Ceremony". For united global meditation classes, wedding services, and spiritual counseling, Spiritual Unity Movement (SUM) holds meditation events in Los Angeles County, San Fernando Valley--North Hills serving Burbank, Granada Hills, Northridge, Sylmar, Pacoima, Sunland, Tujunga, Van Nuys, Reseda, Encino, Sherman Oaks, North Hollywood, Tarzana, Canoga Park, Chatsworth, North Ranch, Glendale, Pasadena, Eaglerock, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Santa Clarita, La Canada, Flintridge, Topanga Canyon, Agoura, West Hills, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks and other Southern California locations.
