BELOW INFORMATION FROM THE AUGUST SUBURBAN DETROIT CRITICAL MASS FACEBOOK PAGE
Critical Mass is a monthly bicycling event held in cities throughout the world. It's goal is to promote bikers' rights and safely enhance public awareness.
The first Suburban Detroit Critical Mass took place July 22nd, 2011. About 175 riders and skaters took the streets of Metro Detroit. With the success of the first ride, we plan to make this a monthly event occurring on the third friday of every month.
This month's ride will co incide with the infamous Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise. Expect to do some of your own dream cruising as we will cruise down Woodward Avenue during part of the ride.
Ride meets at 6:30 PM (Withington Street Parking Lot @ 1840 Planavon Street, Ferndale. Located just north of 9 Mile Road, behind the Rust Belt Market).
Leaves at 7:00 PM.
The ride will last about 1.5 hours (12-15 miles).
Post-ride party @ Rosie O'Grady's Irish Pub:
279 West 9 Mile Road, Ferndale, MI ( http://www.4rosieogradys.com/ (http://www.4rosieogradys.com/))
Starts immediately following the ride (around 8:30-9 PM) with $2 drafts and 10% off the menu. The front outdoor patio will be reserved for all participants/supporters. All you have to do is mention the Suburban Detroit Critical Mass.
Bikers and skaters of all ages and abilities are welcome. Thank you for your participation last month and hope to see you there again!
