Fruita Welcome Center to Highline Lake

This ride is about 30 miles round trip from Fruita out to Highline Lake State Park which is free to bikers and has restrooms. There are two short climbs on the ride but it is mostly level so it is not a bad ride for newer riders. On past Highline Lake rides we tend to average about 10-14 mph so it is not too hard to keep up with us. Faster riders can go on ahead or go back and forth or reclimb those hills! Nancy and I will ride our bikes to the ride start at the Fruita Welcome Center near I-70 just a little before 10:00 and try to leave on time to avoid the late afternoon chill. There is a 20% chance of showers for Friday so check this post before you leave for possible cancelation in case the weather is worse than predicted.
