Saturday Shift 2 @ SF Food Bank - Food Sorting

Details

The San Francisco Food Bank provides food to over 450 local non-profit organizations and weekly groceries to 30,000 families. This year it expects to distribute over 45 million pounds of food.

The Food Bank relies on volunteers to sort, repack and shelve over 390 tons of food each week - this would normally require 68 full-time employees.

We'll be there for the evening shift which runs from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m. Our work might include:
• Sorting and packing fruit
• Repackaging bulk goods (such as rice or beans)

Wear closed-toe shoes and avoid loose clothing. A sweatshirt or extra layer is recommended, as the temperature in the warehouse can be quite cool.

Parking is available in the parking lot or on the street.

Definite RSVPs are important. Please try not to cancel, but if you must, let us know as soon as possible - thanks!
