HOW WILL IT WORK?
Projects start between 11am and noon on Saturday morning with team formation and group brainstorming. Participants will then be given 60 seconds to pitch their ideas to the group and the best 15 will be awarded an Intel Edison and Grove Starter Kit Plus to bring their ideas to life. The 15 teams of up to 5 people each will then work Saturday night (as late as you want!) and Sunday morning. Building ends Sunday at noon and will be followed by presentations, judging, and the awarding of prizes.
All are welcome whether you have an idea already or just want to help a team build something cool. During the hackathon participants will have supervised access to our fantastic makerspace which includes:
-
Soldering stations
-
oscilloscopes
-
bench power supplies and a signal generator
-
small components (resistors, capacitors, potentiometers, small ICs, etc)
-
3D printing & Laser Cutting capabilities provided as available by our wonderful facilitators
-
Most of the common handtools
In addition, if you are already a Hacker Lab member you are allowed to use any of the tools/equipment that you would normally be certified to use.
