What is the NW eHealth Hackcelerate Weekend?

A high energy, focused weekend designed to provide a framework for existing and new eHealth and mHealth projects to gain validated learning on their ideas and improve their chances of being brought to market.

The event brings together the best and brightest from the technology and healthcare sectors to accelerate the development of new solutions, applications and businesses.

Who is it for?

The event is open to individuals and teams with brand new or existing ideas and projects around eHealth and mHealth. We also welcome people with skills that they could be applied to these projects but have no specific project in mind.

Participants could be:

Healthcare professionals from both the NHS and private sectors Healthcare researchers General developers looking to apply their skills to eHealth opportunities Anyone with and interest in the intersection of Health and Technology But there may be a category we have overlooked – all are welcome!

What will you get out of it?

There are few opportunities to gain such rigorous and rapid validation of eHealth ideas. The weekend provides you with:

A framework to make rapid progress with your idea A set of mentors to help you develop your project The chance to form valuable and lasting relationships with a variety of people with a diversity of skills. A significant prize list is also being put together but the real value is in the participation Who is organising it?

The event is being organized by Barclays, in conjunction with Manchester Chapter of Health 2.0, the Manchester mHealth Ecosystem, and TechHub Manchester.

Manchester mHealth Ecosystem (http://www.informatics.manchester.ac.uk/mhealthecosystem) is partnership of health and social care providers and commissioners, industry, patient organisations and academia in the North West.

TechHub is the leading environment for technology startups and has a Manchester space the Northern Quarter and Piccadilly (http://manchester.techhub.com/).

The event will run over the weekend of 15-16 June in Manchester, venue to be confirmed.
