Tri-State Hiking Club

Join us for an easier/moderate (its not “easy”, this is 2 1/2-3 miles in an hour) hike at CNC. Pet friendly. The duration will be about 1 hour covering some easy to moderate trails, about 2.5 to 3 miles with occasional quick break. If you are new to hiking, trying to get into shape, recovering from injury or just getting back into hiking, this is the one for you. We will meet at the first parking lot on your right as you enter (playscape) at the message board. There is a $10 fee to enter CNC (bring credit card, they doo’t take cash) or $45 for year pass . Please if you don't feel well stay at home and change your rsvp. What to bring: Water (be sure you are well-hydrated before the hike and carry plenty of water during the hike), hiking or trail shoes with good traction, trekking poles . Hike at your own risk . You are responsible for your own safety and enjoyment and agree not to hold Tri State Hiking and the leader liable for injuries, disappointments or challenges. We meet on the outdoor plaza directly across from the ticket line for the Aquarium. During cold weather, we meet in the heated clear plastic tent across from the ticket line.

We typically do about 10 miles and there are several long sets of stairs (1,000+). We walk at a brisk pace, so it is not just an easy stroll. Some in the group may take a shortcut to eliminate a couple miles. If anyone is getting tired, they can turn back at Krohn Conservatory and take a direct route back without any additional stairs.

We usually head across the Bridge, walk out east around the pickleball courts and up the stairs to Mt. Adams and loop back through Eden Park. We will walk past Krohn Conservatory, Playhouse in the Park and up the Art Museum stairs.

PARKING: Parking on Monmouth is free on Sunday. Or you can pay to park in the Levee garage.

In consideration for being permitted to participate in the Tri-State Hiking Club and or Tri-State Hiking Club events, I fully understand that outdoor activities can be dangerous and that the dangers inherent in such activities, including but not limited to exposure to severe weather, encounters with dangerous animals, equipment failure and misuse of equipment by myself and others, could result in my suffering serious bodily injury and/or death and I HEREBY: RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE AND COVENANT Tri-State Hiking club, meetup.com, leaders and/or participants in any activities and or any of the individual organizers or members of the club, or hold them in any way responsible for any injuries, incidents or other problems to both person, property and schedule.
I further expressly agree that the foregoing release, waiver and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by law and if any portion thereof is invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, not withstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
