Hosted by Mt. San Jacinto Hiking Club
Details
If you ever wanted to hike C2C, under a full Moon, then this is the hike for you. I'm limiting this hike to 12 hikers, due to the nature and the fact it is a night hike. We will start, under a full moon and hopefully get to the San J peak, in time for sunrise. This is a very arduous hike, under normal conditions. Even though I'll be the sweep on this , I'm looking at 6 1/2 to 7 hours skyline. Not fast, but not a slow pace either. After regrouping at Long Valley, we will head up Wellman Devide Trail, to the peak. Where we will take a well deserved break. We will then descend via Sid Davis. To be consider for this hike, put your name on the waiting list and if we are comfortably with your experience and hiking ability, we will add you to the list. Since this is a night hike, I don't need any lone hikers, you need to stay with the group or fine a hiking buddy.
No plus 1's. No dogs.
Bring extra cash, $12.00 for the tram ride down and cab fair, back to the museum.
Bring at least 3 liters of water, electrolytes, energy gels and any other snacks, you may need. We will refill at Long Valley Ranger station and get the permits. Your 10 essentials, this includes a head lamp, extra clothing layers, as the temperature at higher elevation can drop by 30 degrees.
This hike will be cancelled, if we get adverse weather. I'll keep you posted, as we get closer to the hike date
WAIVER:
Every year there are many rescues on skyline and over the past several years hikes have died. Please , do not attempt this hike unless you know your capable of making it. Skyline is especially dangerous in hot or icing conditions. By signing up for this hike, you assume all responsibility for you own safety. Also, keep in mind, since this is a night hike, it will upset your sleeping pattern.
