ADVANCED hike to Mt. Baldy summit 10,064' and back out via the Ski Hut Trail ~3,900' gain/~9 miles in snow conditions.

Difficulty: Very Strenuous. Slow to moderate paced hike.

Time: ~7 hours

Distance: ~9 miles

Gain/Loss: ~3,900'

Recommendations for this hike: 3 liters of water and electrolytes, 10 essentials, micro-spikes and hiking-poles mandatory, waterproof boots, warm hat, warm gloves, energy snacks and lunch, sunscreen, sunglasses, layered clothing, wind/rain jacket.

Adventure Pass should be displayed when parking at Manker Flats. Park at your own risk and cost.

Cancellations: Heavy snow, high winds, thunderstorms and forest fires will cancel this hike.

This hike is strenuous due to gain and elevation, and not for beginners. Must have a hiking history on Meetup or share your recent hiking history if asked.

Getting There:

Heading west on 210 freeway exit at Baseline Rd. Turn left on E. Baseline Rd and then right on Padua Ave. after a couple miles turn right on Mt. Baldy Rd. Follow it all the way up to Manker Flats about 12 miles. It takes about 30 minutes to trailhead from freeway exit. Park on any shoulder of the road in Manker Flats area and display your valid National Forest Adventure Pass. Park at your own risk and cost.
