Total Distance: 30 miles (+- 2) Friday ~ Sunday

Elevation Gain: 9,500' (+- 500') Friday ~ Sunday

Sunday's stats are not included. PLUS whatever else we decide do on Sunday morning for 3 to 4 hours will be bonus mileage and EG.

Tyndall (class 2-3) and Williamson (class 3) on the same day.

Please look at the picture below. This is more like a class 4 but there is a good chance we may have to go through places similar, likely with less exposure. If you are on the wait list and not comfortable being in a place like this in that picture, please take your name off the wait list.

PLAN:

~ Arrive to TH to the Sheppard Pass on Friday before 2 PM.

~ Backpack 11 miles to Sheppard Pass, 6,400' elevation gain to Sheppard Pass. This will likely be the toughest part of the hike, because we will need to hike this section maximum 5-6 hours or better, if we start hiking at 2 PM on Friday and start setting up the camp site around 7:00 to 8 PM.)

~ Start the hike to Tyndall on Saturday Morning likely around 6 to 6:30 AM (I like my sleep, so don't ask for earlier start.)

~ After Tyndall, we will head to Mt. Williamson and summit around or before 2 PM or better on Saturday. We will be back to our campsite by 5 PM to enjoy rest of the day.

~ On Sunday morning, we will do some exploration hikes to what we see interesting around our campsite for about 3 to 4 hours then head back to our cars. We will get back to our cars by 5 PM. :

So, if the above plan does not work for you, please take your name out of the wait list.

PLEASE NOTE: You need to keep up with a better than 2 miles average hiking speed while going up (6,000+ EG), even with your backpacks, while on trails. Hiking speed off the trails, in scrambling areas will be determined by the majority of the group. If one person is considerably slower than the majority of the group, and it is you, you maybe left behind. So, everyone needs to know how to navigate in wilderness and turn back to your car or the campsite if necessary, all by yourself.

This will be a group hike ONLY if everyone is moving at about similar pace.
