http://photos4.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/6/a/e/2/event_161007362.jpegI do this trail to keep in shape during the week. It's a great workout! I find if I do the B&G at least twice a week, the bigger hikes get much easier! There are two routes: The Schuler Trail and then an unnamed trail that goes to the left. The left trail is much steeper and harder, so I take that one on the way up and I come down the Schuler Trail because it's easier on the knees. The B&G is also a great trail for running also.

I recommend bringing at least a liter of water and a headlamp. This hike is about 3 miles round trip now that the top section is not accessable.

Directions: We don't actually start at the original Bump and Grind location. To get to the Mike Schuler Trail-head just take Fred Waring all the way to where it ends in Palm Desert. Then take a left and you will see many cars parked and a large sign. This is behind the Target Shopping Center in Palm Desert, which is right near Highway 111 and Fred Waring.
