Home of the 52 Peak Club

We are the home to the 52 Peak Club, a club within this Meetup group that motivates you to hike/scramble to the best 52 peaks around Las Vegas. Each time you complete a hike to a peak, you get a playing card. The goal is to get all 52 playing cards. The 52 Peak Club Party is March 23rd with over $1500 in prizes!

This Meetup hiking group, started January 1st, 2011, evolving from Branch Whitney's hiking group which started in 1996.  

We Hike To Peaks other Meetup Groups Don't

We have done more hikes to more peaks than all the other hiking Meetup groups combined!!! We have the most experienced organizers of any Meetup hiking group and schedule hikes no other hiking Meetup group schedules.

We do easy (25%) moderate (35%) and advance (40%) hikes and scrambling routes around Las Vegas and the southwest. Many of the hikes are based on Branch Whitney's book and website: Hiking Las Vegas, which is the source for hiking information around Las Vegas.

The focus of this Meetup group is hiking, rock scrambling and peak bagging.  We focus on fun and safety while hiking and scrambling to peaks such as: Pine Creek Peak, Bridge Vista, Moapa Peak, Terrace Canyon Peak, Charleston Peak via Big Falls, Mt. Wilson, Mummy Head to Toe, Mt. Whitney and list goes on and on. 

We follow these rules to ensure we don't have problems:
*No alcohol.
*We limit the number of hikers on all hikes. 
*This group is NOT a dating service.

 

Branch works with the BLM to help all hikers enjoy Red Rock Canyon and to make sure we do not cause problems.

 

The Best Organizers

Our organizers know the hikes they are scheduling and I personally review each hike to make sure it can be done safely. I know the hikes and routes and have done virtually every hike, many of them several times.
