What we’re about
At least once a month at HoustonPhotowalks.com, we drum up some crazy idea for a place to photograph and practice our photo techniques. We're a fun bunch, no pressure, no stress. Come ready to learn and share what you know among other photographers.
Check out our Member Discounts, Sponsors and other cool stuff on our Good Stuff page: https://houstonphotowalks.com/member-perks/
This group is perfect for new camera owners, novice hobby photographers, and old dogs that have been shooting photos for a long time.
Our group has 3 main principles that guide our way:
• Fun and Safe (we want you to have a great time, and not die).
• Honor the amateur photography clubs that came before us. Their enthusiastic interest in photography paved the way for the technology evolution that allows us to capture light today.
• Education, of ourselves, each other and the community. We learn our best techniques from each other, and we teach the community that photographers aren't jerks, criminals or terrorists.

See all- Photowalk: Vintage Equipment and Macro Photography at Electronics Parts OutletElectronics Parts Outlet in Houston, Houston, TX$3.54
Get ready for a unique macro photography experience at Houston's iconic Electronic Parts Outlet (EPO)! We're getting exclusive early morning access to explore and photograph their fascinating collection of vintage electronics and components before the store opens for the day to the public.
EPO is offering 15 members of HoustonPhotowalks to visit the store prior to opening.
PHOTOWALKING HOUSTON'S ELECTRONIC PARTS OUTLET
EPO is a treasure trove for tech enthusiasts and photographers alike. With aisles filled with vintage radios, oscilloscopes, and unique electronic components, there's no shortage of subjects to capture. This early access allows us to set up tripods and use flash without the usual crowd, making it perfect for detailed macro shots.
SAYING THANKS
Huge thanks to Chris Macha, owner of Electronic Parts Outlet. About 100 years ago when I moved to Houston, EPO was my go-to for parts to keep my IBM-compatible PCs running when things overheated and needed to be replaced. Or when I wanted to fix something rather than throwing it away. Chris is a huge supporter of the Maker and Self-Repair community in Houston, and EPO is one of the last remaining resources of it's kind. A great way to thank Chris for letting us invade his space is to find something interesting to buy and take home to photograph later.
