Skeptics in the Pub

Recently, HCCO was asked to coordinate Drinking Skeptically. Columbus has a long skeptic tradition, we stepped in to help keep that alive. The date and time have been moved, but we're open to feedback. Join us for dinner, drinks, coffee and conversation at our monthly Skeptic get together.

This is an interesting take on being Skeptical. Usually we agree that Creationism is a non rational take on reality and dismiss it, although it is more consistent if you believe in the Bible, but we ignore other more subtle institutions like....Whole Foods. Chex it outs.

It's to be expected whenever corporate money, slick marketing and a science-illiterate public intersect.

Unless you spend a lot of time reading research papers (I do, but that's me) it's hard to judge what what claims have a grain of truth or not to them. By the way, the dinosaurs could have been victims of homeopathy- Adam and Eve and their friends may have fed them dino-chow diluted down to clear broth.

Alright people, what do we think about mixing it up and moving to a weekend? Some faces that used to be real regulars have a hard time making it on weekdays, how do we feel about a Saturday just to keep it interesting??

Can it switch back and forth? Or is it too confusing?

I kept the date for this month's since we already had a bunch of RSVPs, but I moved next month's to a Saturday. We'll see how it works out. Saturdays during the summer seem to work well, especially with the outdoor seating.

One of the advantages to Saturday Night is that we can rock it up, roll it up, do it all, and have a ball. S. A. T. U. R. D. A. Y night!!
