Don’t Throw the Baby Out With the Baptism Water -- What Humanists Could Possibly Learn from the Church
Edwin Moise is a former Evangelical Church Planter who planted several churches and campuses in the United States and one internationally before de-converting in 2012.
A sought-after speaker in the former evangelical world, Edwin has transitioned through a difficult journey out of religion and into the secular world including the challenges of a finding a new career path, losing many friends and family and the myriad of other difficulties that come from leaving the church behind.
Edwin along with his wife and family host a robust “Recovering From Religion - Life After Belief Group” and are also active members of The Clergy Project, a community of 700+ former clergy who have de-converted and are processing through the carnage that can follow. He and his wife are also members of HCCO and are active in the community and their kids social activities, sports, and other adventures while traveling this new journey that has been very difficult, yet extremely freeing and rewarding.
Edwin holds a Master of Arts in Religion and is passionate about seeing a robust Humanist and secular community form to meet the needs of those who are traveling the same path out.
Dinner will be catered by Chipotle, which offers a wide range of dietary options for those with various restrictions and aversions.
For dessert, we will be hosting an optional potluck. Bring any desserts from home (with ingredients listed) to share with the rest of your fellow Humanists!
