Humanist Monthly Program: Save Lives Using Reason and Compassion

Details
Save lives using reason and compassion by attending today's event! For every participant, $10 will be donated to a charity, and best of all, it's free for you - the donations will be sponsored by an external party.
What we will be doing is a Giving Game. In this event, participants get to talk about their personal motivations for donating to charity, consider what methods we should use to select a charity, and what metrics are most valuable for evaluating the impact of a charity.
We will then vote on four charities to give a donation:
-
Choices for Domestic Violence, http://choicescolumbus.org/ , an organization that helps victims of domestic abuse in Central Ohio
-
GiveDirectly, http://givedirectly.org/ , an organization that transfers cash directly to poor people in Kenya and Uganda.
-
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio, http://www.bbbscolumbus.org/ , an organization that provides volunteer mentoring to youth in Central Ohio.
-
Against Malaria Foundation, https://www.againstmalaria.com/ , an organization that combats malaria through distributing bed nets
For every participant, $10 will be donated to one of these two charities, so your participation will literally be contributing to saving the lives of people either in Columbus area or in Africa. Hope you join us and help save lives using reason and compassion!
