This page was created as a way for HB Reiki members to help sponsor these wonderful beings. 100% of donations go to Hanaeleh Horse Rescue.

You're welcome to donate what is comfortable for you. This will be a monthly collection. You can donate monthly, as a one time donation or whenever you have extra funds. You can donate any time during the month.

13-year-old Appendix Gelding
Rescued August 2012

Ulysses is a 13-year-old Appendix gelding who was abandoned and left to starve to death in a riverbed in Riverside county. Hanaeleh rescued him from the Riverside Animal Shelter in July, 2012 because he was scheduled to be euthanized. Ulysses was very abused, and came to us with scars across his face, back and legs. He appears to have some neurological issues.

is a registered Friesian

D’Artagnan is a registered Friesian whose owner could no longer afford to keep him. She eventually became so far behind on the board that the stable told her she needed to find him another home, or they would be forced to send him to auction, something they did not want to do as D’Artagnan needs a very special diet and he has medical allergies. He also has some debilitating issues due to his age which do not cause him pain, but limit his ability to be ridden at anything but a walk. D’Artagnan also will eat dirt if unattended, so he needs to be in a stall completely covered in mats to prevent him from coliccing. His owner contacted Hanaeleh, who agreed to allow D’Artagnan to retire there in comfort. He is a favorite amongst the volunteers, and is always willing to perform a trick for an apple or a carrot!

22 year-old Arabian

Maggie is a 22 year-old Arabian who was abandoned by her owner and left to starve to death in a riverbed in Riverside. Riverside Animal Control picked her up, and called us when she hadn't been adopted and was slated to be euthanized.

Maggie was very underweight when she came to Hanaeleh, but she has gained it all back- and then some!

Delilah
7-year-old Thoroughbred mare
Rescued March 2, 2012

Delilah came to us because her owner abandoned her at a nearby boarding facility. Delilah had some weight and pain issues due to neglect, but she is gaining weight and is feeling a lot better!
