Claire Rowland, Independent UX and Product Consultant

Claire has a particular interest in making the internet of things make sense to mass market users, and experience in consumer applications such as connected home technology, heating, energy monitoring, security and home automation.

UX is a lot more than UI design. Claire uses methods from design research, service design, interaction design, information architecture, usability and UX to make complex distributed computer systems make sense to people who aren't technical specialists.

That means framing the problem (understanding what users and the business need), shaping propositions and concept designs to fit those needs, and making sure the end result is appealing, valuable and makes sense.
