Anne Sanders (http://www.linkedin.com/in/asandersdesign) will present our March meeting: a logo/branding design project from start to finish in Adobe Illustrator. If you've wanted to get into Illustrator but weren't sure where to start, come and watch Anne's magic as she works a rough idea into a completed project. We'll cover pathfinder, appearance and graphic styles, drawing tools, helpful shortcuts, tips and tricks, masks, and more! We'll also get familiar with some of the new Illustrator CC features including:
• responsive svg
• live corners
• path reshaping
• new pencil tool
• typekit integration
Anne has been a graphic and web designer with over 15 years experience in various design positions. For the last 8 years, she was a graphic artist and designer at Gear for Sports, and most recently accepted a graphic engineer position at Saepio Technologies, a company that specializes in creating web templates for external companies.
She loves designing and teaching, and has a strong desire to learn as much as possible about all facets of graphic design aesthetics and programs, especially web design. Her goal is to work on projects in a team-oriented agency setting.
BONUS SXSW PRESENTATION!
As a warmup/bonus, Jon Kohrs (http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=6706289&authType=NAME_SEARCH&authToken=Wk69&locale=en_US&srchid=36225631393476258599&srchindex=1&srchtotal=2&trk=vsrp_people_res_name&trkInfo=VSRPsearchId%3A36225631393476258599%2CVSRPtargetId%3A6706289%2CVSRPcmpt%3Aprimary), UX Team Manager at the KC Federal Reserve Bank, will rehearse his 15-minute South by Southwest (SXSW) presentation "live" for our group, prior to leaving for Austin the next day to present it.
His talk, "A UX Fisherman's Guide to Hooking Users," will challenge you to look at the User Experience through the eyes of a fish who has only two goals in life: eating and spawning. Jon looks forward to honest feedback and suggestions from our group as he takes this presentation on the road to SXSW, so please come prepared with your best tips! We will hopefully have signed copies of Scott Valentine's book, "The Hidden Power of Adjustment Layers in Photoshop," ready to distribute to the winners from our January meeting as well.
To say it's an action-packed meeting would be an understatement! We look forward to seeing you Tuesday night at Centriq!
