November KCDesignCore Meeting: File Workflow for Designers

http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/1/0/9/c/event_69304252.jpegDo you ever feel like you're drowning in different in-progress versions of your projects, partial work, rough comps, proofs, and final output? If your client came back and asked you to make a short animated film from your artwork, would you know how to do it?
I'm excited to announce that we have a very special speaker: Wade Johnston from Hallmark presenting at our November meeting.
In his session, you'll discover how Hallmark is developing a motion design workflow for content that has multiple uses (print, interactive, web, broadcast, mobile, and so on). He'll show you how to take files that originated for print and then convert them for distribution to the web, mobile applications, Google TV, and broadcast. See how to start with HD source files and follow an "author once, distribute everywhere" model.
While focusing on a single file, the session will cover a range of topics from naming conventions to output modules and file creation. Come with your toughest file-management questions and throw them at him!
This session will have merit for anyone who works with client files on a regular basis. This will be your ticket to getting things organized.
I heard Wade's presentation at AdobeMAX in Los Angeles and knew it would be a huge hit for our group back home (in his backyard) if he would be willing to present it again.
Wade is currently a senior level designer working at Hallmark Cards in their multimedia studio. With over 25 years of professional experience, he has worked with a wide variety of clients on everything from print, to broadcast, to web design, to motion graphics, and more. His role within the new media studio is to develop interactive and dynamic digital content, as well as consult with internal departments and external clients on what is possible with Hallmark's integrated content offerings. This promises to be a fantastic session (I think it's safe to say that even "Mad Men" ad guy Don Draper might make a small cameo appearance).
Please bring your graphics-loving friends. We will be recording the session through Adobe Connect if you can't make it personally...but we hope you do!
