Slow Poke Tuesday Morning Hike Around the Claremont Loop the EASY Way...
Got the day off and want a little exercise? No problem, join us for a leisurely five mile walk around the Claremont Loop the easy way.
The hike is a five mile loop on a fire road with about 900 feet elevation gain so even though we'll be taking a slow poke pace, you'll feel it if you haven't exercised lately.
We'll be taking the easier left side of the loop, called the Burbank Trail and will be rewarded by the relatively cool shade of the low hanging trees on our descent down the Cobal Canyon Motorway, just as it starts to really heat up.
WE WILL MEET AT 9:15 AM AT THE TRAILHEAD LOCATED AT THE END OF MILLS RD AND START THE WALK AT 9:30 AM SHARP.
The Claremont Hills Wilderness Park is located at the end of Mills Ave in the City of Claremont and covers 1693 acres of rugged terrain, including the nearby Potato Mountain. We'll be hiking the 5 Mile Loop this time and leave Potato Mountain for another day.

And though we will be going to Legends Burgers for lunch afterwards, be sure to bring plenty of water, good trail shoes, sunscreen, and an energy snack.
Legends is located at 2420 W. Arrow Rte. Ste. 1D, Upland, CA. Feel free to join us just for lunch. Just indicate that on your RSVP.
NOTE: PARKING IS AN ISSUE. BE PREPARED TO PAY $3 TO PARK IN THE PARKING LOT AT THE END OF MILLS AVE UNLESS YOU HAPPEN TO BE A CLAREMONT RESIDENT AND HAVE A PARKING PERMIT. JUST FIND YOUR BEST SPOT AND MEET AT THE TRAILHEAD.
Directions: From the East, take 210 West and exit Baseline. Turn west (right) on Baseline to Mills Ave. Go north, (right) on Mills to the corner of Mt. Baldy rd and Mills. From the west, take 210 east to Baseline. Go left on Baseline to Mills. Turn right on Mills to the corner of Mills Rd and Mt. Baldy Rd. There is also parking along Mills Ave.
Rain or a fire danger closure cancels. Check site 24 hours before event.
