12 Mile Round Trip Hike To Ontario Peak

Details
Ok, we've done numerous easy hikes and even a couple of tough ones. We've been to the Mt Baldy and we've been to the Icehouse Saddle. But now it's time for Ontario Peak!
NOTE: This hike is cross posted with Energized Outdoor Adventures.
If you are up for the challenge, come join us for this rollicking adventure past the Icehouse Saddle, past Kelly's Camp and over the multi-humps of Ontario Ridge to the 8,693-foot summit. It's a 12 mile round trip hike with a 3800 feet elevation gain. Expect the hike to take 7-8 hours...or longer!

It's going to be tough. It's going to be challenging. You must be prepared to hike back by yourself if you turn back. Make no mistake, this is a pain and suffering type of hike. But the views from the top just might be worth it.
NOTE: There will be no PLUS-ONES for this hike. If you would like to bring someone on the hike, just have them join the group and RSVP.
Jim will hike up with the faster paced hikers and James will hike up with the nature loving, picture taking slow poke hikers at the rear. Here's the general plan we'll follow:
• First, we'll hike up the Icehouse Canyon Trail 3.5 miles to the Icehouse Saddle.
• From the Icehouse Saddle, we'll take the far right fork and follow the trail about a mile to Kelly's Camp.
• From Kelly's Camp, we'll hike across the undulating Ontario Ridge about 2 miles to the Ontario Peak summit where we will have lunch before we return the way we came.
We will take breaks along the way as needed.
