Palos Verdes Nature Preserve Hike

With 30 miles of hiking trails and an active landslide there is always something new and different to explore. The Palos Verdes Nature Preserve is made up of 10 reserves and we'll be hiking in two of them: The Portuguese Bend Reserve and The Filiorum Reserve.

Our hike will begin in the Filiorum Reserve on the Rattlesnake Trail. The reservse consists of 900 acres and a wildlife corridor linking the Three Sisters Reserve and the Portuguese Bend Reserve. As we sweep through this area to the Portuguese Bend Reserve highlights will include Gary's Gulch and a Euclyptus grove. If it's clear, we will have a beautiful view of Catalina Island

The Portuguese Bend Reserve consists of rolling hills, five distinct steep canyons and rock outcrops, with coastal sage scrub habitat, a community of intensely fragrant and drought resistant shrubs and flowering plants.
