Join us for a nice leisurely hike to Fish Canyon Falls. We don't know if the waterfall will be dry when we get there or what the conditions will be like, but we're sure to get a good hike in either way.

Fish Canyon Falls was generally regarded as the most beautiful waterfall in the Angeles National Forest with a nice, sometimes tricky stream crossing along the way. But after several years of drought, the falls and stream have at times been dry and the vegetation overgrown and weedy.

Even worse, vandals sometimes paint graffiti on the canyon walls and rocks. That how it was the last time we were there in October of 2014.

But there has been rain this winter, so let's see which Fish Canyon we encounter, the one that matches the above photo? Or the dry and graffitied version shown in the photo below. It's a good hike either way. You in?

Here's the stats:

Distance: 5.4 miles (out-and-back)
Elevation Gain: 750 feet
Hiking Time: 3-3.5 hours
Difficulty: Moderate
