Python For Fun and Education

Details
Python can be fun, creative and educational too!
We're really pleased to have a special joint meetup with the huge and active CodeClub community who also love Python! CodeClub (https://www.codeclub.org.uk) is a network of free, volunteer-led, after-school coding clubs for children aged 9 to 11.
We're lucky to have CodeClub's Dan Elwick to lead a hands-on overview showing how to make fun games with Python .. with the aim of helping to teach programming and computer science concepts in a fun way. All the tools, like Trinket, are open and free for all to use.
Bring a laptop if you'd like to follow Dan's tutorial in a relaxed supportive group setting.
We'll also have a shorter talk by Céline Boudier who is doing inspirational work through Code for Life (https://www.codeforlife.education), helping teachers and enthusiastic students learn computing through fun and accessible games. Their first and very successful app, RapidRouter, helps bridge the gap between coding with blocks and coding with real Python.
This meetup is open to everyone .. you don't need to be an expert or have previous experience at all. It'll be particularly useful to anyone who wants to have fun making your own games, and anyone involved in teaching children (and grown ups) to code.
Please sign up on https://skillsmatter.com/meetups/8534-practical-intro-to-pygame-for-fun-and-education too .. not just here. The number of places is split between London Python and CodeClub.
