BeagleBone Black Lab

Free (Libre) Software on Free (Libre) Hardware. It really doesn't get any better than this.
The Software Freedom School likes to promote the idea of "Software Freedom 1st Friday", the habit of learning and doing something new with Free Software (Software Libre) every month, on the first Friday of the month.
This Friday is the 1st Friday of October. If you'd like to "learn and do" with us, join us at The Tinkermill where we'll have a few BeagleBone Black's set up for show and tell and exploration. If you already have a BeagleBone Black, bring it. Also, bring a question, or something you'd like to show and tell about.
We'll start at around 6:30pm, and we'll definitely do these:
- download the latest debian for BBB image and flash the internal eMMC storage
- browse the BBB "Getting Started" page
- ssh to the BBB
- move files to/from the BBB
- use the Cloud9 IDE
And we might do some of these:
- vnc to the BBB
- play a Jason Rohrer game
- flash some LED's or a table-lamp
- sense some inputs
- play Descent (or something like it)
- play Minecraft Pi (or something like it)
Heather will probably bring a nice evening snack...
