The second instalment of the monthly 'Hack the Lab' meetup on open hardware (and software) for science will be focusing on microscopes: basic components, functions and how to build open source, low cost versions for multiple purposes.

You are encouraged to bring a project you're working on with you, or join one of the other groups and contribute your skills and ideas.

• Low cost mosquito blood feeding apparatus for malaria/dengue research

• Infrared automated camera for monitoring plants

• Action group to set up a Cambridge diybio group and biohacking space
