Details

We have been kindly offered the use of a conference room facility conveniently located in Central London with nearby access to the Central Line.

Format of meeting will be for four speakers to give 10-15 minute presentations around a series of relevant and interesting topics.

Confirmed speakers & topics:

• MARK WILCOCK - A Month of Predictive Analytics

What should you do if you find yourself between jobs for a month? Take a holiday and travel somewhere exotic? See more of family and friends? Paint the house? Watch daytime TV in your PJs? No, that would be so wrong. Clearly, the best option is to get up to speed with predictive analysis and machine learning. That's what I did this May. I'll share details about the the resources I used - books, videos, datasets and tools, courses and exercises and what I learned. All in 15 minutes!

Mark Wilcock is an independent consultant specialising in the analysis, reporting and visualisation of financial data. Over the last 20 years, he has worked on many systems to measure and monitor financial performance and manage market risks that arise from banking and trading activities. He is the organiser of the London Business AnalyticsGroup ( https://www.meetup.com/London-Business-Analytics-Group/ ), a popular community group that holds monthly talks on topics ranging from Predictive Analytics to Power Query to Personalised Medicine.

• LAURE ANDRIEUX, Aiseedo - How responsive is your digital presence?

What would you do if you knew that a user is about to leave your web site right before checking out her cart or adopting your service?

How would you act on a recommendation that is highly likely to re-engage her and lead to a conversion?

Today’s digital interactions are fast-paced and impersonal. The difference between converting a user and losing her interest often depends on your ability to offer ad-hoc, personalised digital interactions.

Machine Intelligence (MI) helps predict what a user will do next and efficiently advise on how to react, on the fly.

It’s the next level of analytics: prescriptive analytics, that combine real-time understanding of user behaviour and smart predictions on how best to re-engage them individually.

Join us on June 18th to explore how Machine intelligence (next generation machine learning) helps increase user acquisition and engagement rates for online businesses.

Laure is a London based entrepreneur with 14 years of experience working for high tech companies in London and the Silicon Valley.

Most recently she co-founded Aiseedo, a startup offering a Machine Intelligence cloud service geared towards improving business’ digital presence.

She is passionate about how Artificial Intelligence can improve the products and services around us.

  • ALPESH DOSHI, Founder, Fintricity

The big data hype is now coming to full fruition. However there is significant business value to be gained from implementing big data analytics tied to use cases and business strategy. This talk will provide a brief look at how this can be done in insurance.

Alpesh runs a company providing business driven consultancy and technology focused on Big Data and Analytics, Cloud and Social Business. His company works also to provide innovation thinking, programme/project management, architecture, software development and implementation to help enterprises build and deliver new business models and revenue streams or transform their business.

  • TONY BOOBIER, IBM - The Future of Insurance, and Digital Reinvention

A whistle stop viewpoint of the future of insurance, and the impacts of data, prediction, customer behaviour and artificial intelligence.

Covering what typical analytics are in use today, and are likely to be used tomorrow. In thinking about what might a typical insurance customer experience look like in 5 -10 years’ time, Tony will provide a provocative, insightful, and personal view of the insurance world in an analytics context.

Tony is a World Wide Executive with IBM Analytics, having spent his first 20 years with insurers and intermediaries in customer facing roles, before moving to the ‘dark’ world of technology nearly 10 years ago. His interests include risk management, operational effectiveness and customer analytics. Qualified in engineering, marketing, supply chain and insurance, he describes himself as ‘lying awake at night, thinking about the convergence of insurance and technology’.
