We are going to do a guided step-through using the Microsoft SQL Server TechNet Labs . You can do the hands-on labs or just chill and enjoy the lecture and demo - your choice :=)
This is content will be delivered from on-line lab from Microsoft TechNet, so here are some points to emphasize:

We are giving instructor-led labs a shot - please be patient with us - we are trying to provide you with the best user group experience possible.

There is guest wifi the classroom.

There are power outlets in the classroom, but be prepared to have 2 hours of battery life on your laptop (just in case).

If you are not interested in actually doing the lab, but just want to learn by watching the session - that is no problem whatsoever.

We will have content presentation/demonstration before the labs to provide context for the topics and also to help guide you in the lab environment

The lab books are available for download in two places - we will not be printing the lab books:

I am currently a Microsoft Account Technology Strategist (ATS) in the Enterprise Partner Group for commercial sales in Washington, D.C. Previously I was a Microsoft SQL Server Premier Field Engineer in Public Sector Services (DoD Group and NSG Group) Prior to Microsoft, I worked for Symantec as DBA on the Business Analysis and Reporting Team and a Technical Trainer in the Enterprise Security Group. I have been in IT for over 16 years. My particular interests are IT operations, IT auditing, IT audit frameworks, IT service management (ITSM), ITIL, information security, project management, and database/application tier high availability solutions.
Timothy is very active in the technical community and is a frequent speaker at user group events (SQL Saturdays, PASS Summits, ISACA conferences, etc.).
