Mount Tammany NJ- The last hike of the 14-year hiking series

DUNFIELD CREEK PARKING AREA, 40.971977 -75.125812, COLUMBIA, NJ, US

It has been another stellar Hiking Series for 2025 - We finish the 14 year series with a hike I have never done - Mount Tammany

This hike visits some of the more famous, featured spots in the park when starting out from the Dunnfield Creek / Mount Tammany Trailhead, (with MINI scramble) including the great viewpoint from Mount Tammany, delightful Dunnfield Creek Falls and, and Sunfish Pond.

Estimated Distance -Likely 10-11 miles depending on final route

Estimated Group Size - ? I know this is a 90 minute - 2 hour ride for most - my guess is we will be a small group - carpool recommended - 1 hr 36 minutes from Mt Kisco - 1 hr 17 minutes from Tarrytown - 1 hr 48 minutes from New Paltz 1 hr 4 minutes - Suffern

Meetup Location -Option 1 - Dunnfield Creek parking lot. -If this lot is full see option 2

# 40°58'18.7"N 75°07'22.7"W

Option 2 - Kittatinny Visitor Center -note this is a 10 minute walk from the Dunnfield Creek lot

I will try to have the location for the meetup pin

Open to Carpool option out of Westchester - will look into post hike dining options

Suggested Donation - $2.00 - can Venmo -Steven-Tartas or Zelle - 914 772-5230

Please check in with me if this is your first hike with the group - I need to know where you have hiked recently before I can add you. (914) 772-5230

Note: End time is an estimate -please do not sign up for this event if you need to be off-trail at an exact time - 3P is reasonable estimate -over the last two months the core group has been moving at a better than the typical 2 mph pace - we won't do that pace within the first 3 miles of this hike
