Join Ted for a mid-week opportunity for some quick exercise and socializing. It is a short hike of under 3 miles. The first half of the hike will be slightly fast. The very beginning is a relatively short stretch, allowing for a nice warm up. The next mile is a steady undulating uphill walk (many short uphills and a few longer ones). This is the obvious exercise portion of the hike. We will take a break on top, to take in the views of the Hudson, New Croton Reservoir, Bear Mountain, Storm King and on a clear day the NYC skyline. The return hike will be over the same path, but at a slower pace to accommodate a bit of socializing and taking in nature. Round trip should be around 1 1/2 hours.

DIRECTIONS: From the South (New York/White Plains) Take the New York State Thruway/Major Deegan North to the Saw Mill Parkway North. Follow SMP to 26: Taconic State Parkway North. Follow TSP to the Underhill Avenue exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto Underhill Ave. At traffic light turn right onto New York State Route 118. Drive 1.6 miles south. You will find the entrance to the trailhead on the right, directly across from the sign for Peter Pratt's Inn.
