Free Spring Workshop 2014: Long Exposure Photography For Burning Steel Wool

UPDATED 4/8/2014

Please note that this is not one lesson in 4 hours.  This is 4 repetitive sessions from 11am to 3pm, on the hour. So don't worry about running late.

Our very own Brooklyn Born was approached by Adorama to teach 2 lessons at the store.  This is two of two workshops that he will be teaching this month.  You will learn how to "capture compelling photographs of burning steel wool. During this workshop, he will walk through an explanation of long exposure photography before beginning a pyrotechnic and photographic demonstration with burning steel wool.”

Also, there will be a contest and a prize.  The general rules are:

1. You must be a member of our meetup group (obviously).

2. You must attend this workshop and sign an attendance sheet with your name, user meetup name, and the email address associated with your meetup account.

Brooklyn will give full details of the contest at the workshop. No camera gear is needed.  Just bring a pen and paper.

This is not a usual day and time we host events, but this what Adorama is offering. If you are willing and able to attend, you must RSVP here AND on Adorama’s website:

Please note that this is not one lesson in 4 hours.  This is 4 repetitive sessions from 11am to 3pm on the hour. So don't worry about running late.

I will not be there at the first two workshop sessions , as I will be working.  But I will stop by during my lunch hour to say hello.

Details of this event may be added or changed at any time, so please check in periodically on this page.

We hope that you will find this free workshop informative.  If you have any questions, post it on this event page, call or text me a message before the day of the event, or you can email me through my meetup profile. Please make sure you identify yourself in your message so I know who you are.

I stopped by during my lunch hour just in time to see the steel wool performance in the plexiglass. Very cool. I hope those who attended got a sense of what Steel Wool Photography is, and will join us this Saturday night to practice!
