SHENANDOAH NATIONAL PARK
Shenandoah National Park extends along the Blue Ridge Mountains in the U.S. state of Virginia. The Skyline Drive runs its length, and a vast network of trails includes a section of the long-distance Appalachian Trail. Mostly forested, the park features wetlands, waterfalls and rocky peaks like Hawksbill and Old Rag mountains. Shenandoah is home to many bird species, plus deer, squirrels and the elusive black bear. OLD RAG MOUNTAIN
Old Rag Mountain is a 3,284-foot peak near Sperryville, Virginia. Located within Shenandoah National Park, it is famous for its challenging rock scramble and 360-degree panoramic views, making it the most popular hiking destination in the park. Unlike most heavily forested peaks in the Blue Ridge range, Old Rag stands out for its massive, exposed granite boulders and bare summit. [1, 2, 3]
The most common way to experience the mountain is via the highly demanding Old Rag Mountain Loop on AllTrails. [1]

• Distance: ~9.3 to 9.4 miles total
• Elevation Gain: Around 2,600 feet
• Time Required: 6 to 8 hours depending on pace and crowd bottlenecks.
• The Scramble: Around mile 2.5, you will encounter a mile-long third-class rock scramble. You will need both hands free to climb over boulders, slide down tight granite crevices, and negotiate steep rock faces. [1, 2, 3, 4]

LODGING
We will be staying in a vacation house near Shenandoah National Park, with 5 bedrooms, 8 beds (1 king beds, 5 queen/full beds & 2 sofabeds), 4 baths, 1 dedicated workspace, 1 full kitchen & 2 living rooms. We will max out at 15 people. The house is 11 minutes drive to Shenandoah National Park and 42 minutes to Old Rag Mountain.

GERTRUDE'S NOSE AND MILLBROOK MOUNTAIN LOOP
Explore this 6.7-mile loop trail near Kerhonkson, New York. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring.
Gertrude’s Nose Trail travels through dense wooded areas to beautiful views while trekking along various cliff edges and rock formations, starting from Millbrook Mountain all the way to Patterson's Pellet with the main highlight being Gertrude's Nose.

KILLINGTON RESORT
Killington Resort is a ski resort in Rutland County, Vermont, United States, near the town of Killington. It is the largest ski area in the eastern U.S., and has the largest vertical drop in New England at 3,050 feet (930 meters). The mountain has been nicknamed the "Beast of the East." SUGARBUSH RESORT

Sugarbush, located in Northern Vermont's Mad River Valley, is one of Vermont's favorite ski areas. Sugarbush consists of two mountains, Mt. Ellen and Lincoln Peak, and is home to more than 4,000 acres, with nearly 600 skiable acres plus 2,000 acres of backcountry skiing in the Slide Brook Wilderness area. "The 'Bush" has beginner terrain (20%), Intermediate (45%) and advanced to expert (35%) accessed via 16 lifts that provide the area with a 25,463 person uphill capacity. The 23,000 square-foot day lodge features cathedral ceilings, a food court, and the Castlerock Pub complete with an outdoor patio and barbeque area. TRIP PLAN
Depart Date: Dec 11th, 2026 Friday; Please arrive 15 minutes earlier. Bus/van will depart sharply on time with or without you.
Depart 4:00 PM from Queens (NEW): (Northeast Corner of 39th Ave & College Point Blvd) 133-03 39th Ave, Flushing, NY 11354 (Map). Subway lines (Main St-Flushing): 7. (1/2 block from Asian Jewels)
Depart 5:00 PM from NYC: (ViVi Bubble Tea) Corner of 43rd St and 9th Ave New York, NY 10036 (Map) Subway lines (Times Sq-42 St): A, C, E, 1, 2, 3, 7, N, Q, R, S.
Depart 6:00 PM from NJ: (NJ Transit Ramsey Route 17) 1 Spring St, Ramsey, NJ 07446 (Map) $2 to $4 daily parking at the station's park lot. Meet at the pick-up/drop-off area (indoor) in the back of the parking garage.
Return: Depart from Sugarbush Ski Resort at 3:30 pm on Sunday and expect to arrive at NJ at 10:00 pm, midtown NYC around 10:30 pm & Flushing at 11:00 pm

COST (LODGING & TRANSPORTATION)
Early Birds: $329 per person for first 7 spots or before 9/15 whichever comes first. Regular: $369 per person for last 6 spots. $30 per person upgrading from shared queen/full bed to own single bed.
Trip Includes: 2 nights shared accommodation (shared queen/full bed or own single bed) at a big vacation house near Sugarbush. Round trip transportation from NYC area, daily transportation between the house & ski resort, tolls, & parking fee if any. $10 tips for the van driver is required & will be collected on the returning trip. Trip goers will provide their own lift tickets, for example, by getting Ikon Pass or Ikon Base Pass.

REFUND POLICY:
* Full refund if cancelled within 24 hours of booking
* Full refund minus $40 processing fee if cancelled 30 days in advance
* 50% refund if cancelled within 30 days of the trip
* No refund for cancellation or no show within 15 days of the trip; however, spots can be transferred to your friends with $40 processing fee
