PRESENTATION: In this presentation we will be going through the steps on how to create a basic web site in NodeJs. We will learn about the basics of NodeJs, Express (a web framework based on Ruby’s Sinatra), Jade (a template engine that renders html), AngularJs (a front end js MVW framework) and MongoDB (a NOSQL database).

The presentation is targeted to those who have worked in other frameworks and have been interested in learning about node. Be prepared to learn and be amazed at how symple thing can be when there done right.

ABOUT DANIEL LEWIS: Daniel Lewis is a senior level application developer with over 10 years of experience building enterprise level applications. As a developer he has built and shipped many successful projects. His areas of technical expertise include ASP.NET, C#, Javascript, SQL, NOSQL, and other languages and stacks. He is a passionate AGILE practitioner with a strong understanding of what it takes to run an effective team in an AGILE manner.

He is an active member of the local user community. He currently runs the VNext OC usergroup in Orange County (https://www.meetup.com/vNext-OrangeCounty/) and is a member of the board of the IE.Net usergroup in the inland empire(http://www.iedotnetug.org/sf/Index.aspx). He also hosts several monthly meetings dedicated to MobProgramming (http://mobprogramming.org/) where individuals of all skill levels are invited to come and participate in hands on software development in a Mob Setting.

In his personal time he runs his own consulting and development company named Sympletech (http://www.sympletech.com), where he takes great pride in making the complex things we face as application developers and making the symple.
