Permaculture Site Design Practicum

This location is shown only to members

Cold and wet have you stalling on creating the site of your dreams? Have no fear! because late fall and winter are great times to plan for next season!

This four-hour workshop will be one part theory, and one part design studio. Participants will bring plans of their existing site and go through a process of creating a basic concept plan for their property, as well as beginning to identify specific elements (whether plants, structures, or hardscape features) that can be implemented in the spring (or even over the winter, if appropriate).

Leonard Barrett will offer his landscape design and contracting experience to help participants develop functional plans that serve their site, while staying cost effective and minimizing labor.

Participants will be required to bring a to-scale plan of their existing site (tips on site mapping will be available). Other design supplies will be provided for use as a part of the workshop fee.

I've been wanting to do a workshop like this for a while, and think it went really well. Seemed like a lot of lightbulbs coming on at the very end. Thanks a lot to the folks who made it. Several people RSVP'd 'no' saying that they had a schedule conflict but would like to take it in the future. Look out for another iteration of the same curriculum (although I think over an extra hour of class-time!) in late January or early February.

Good class for getting overview and some specifics on Permaculture site design. The small class size lent itself to a good deal of one-on-one work as well as sharing among the participants. Would recommend this class to anyone with a new site who is beginning the planning process.
