Movie Showing: Sepp Holzer's Permakultur

Sepp Holzer was blazing new trails in permaculture theory and practice before it even had a name.  He has consulted with projects on six continents, but is best known for his own homestead in the Austrian alps, Krameterhoff.  There, at an altitude of over 4500 feet, he has masterfully transformed a rocky alpine slope into a diverse farm that produces an abundant array of fruits, vegetables, grains, and animal products.

This is a short video, around 40 minutes, so discussion and networking will be encouraged afterwards.

Was a nice time and my first ever meet up! Thanks! Sepp is a bad ass and when looking at his eyes one can't deny his innate passion for the land and the reward that has provided to his body... Good work!

Great venue, great people and discussions afterward, and I'm so glad I was fortunate enough to see this film and learn more about permakulture.

To be fair I love just about any overdubbed movie. But this one was informative and inspiring to boot.
I think Leonard also did a good job by encouraging people to network at this Meetup. It seemed like people were a lot more interactive!

The film was very inspiring, but not really practical for the urban agriculture that most people are trying to get a handle on. However, it made me me realize that I was doing a lot of things right at my own tiny home project, as well as my research project in Guatemala.

We enjoyed the movie and got a couple ideas from it. This was our first meeting; nice atmosphere and friendly crowd.

The movie was great - a chance to see the extreme positive possibilities of permaculture. Hopeful. Interesting. Helpful.

    Love the event, as always
Scott had mentioned (and I agree) that perhaps we should devote a bit of time to getting together after the movie to do a little bit of - I hate the word "networking," let's say - community building.
Perhaps drinks or tea/coffee for the non-alcohol consumers and some kind of meet-and-greet
    Suggestions? :)

Is anyone here interested in the "Urban Homesteading" movement? If so, come a little early or stay a little late- we're planning to share our experiences with it (or for some, learn about it for the first time) when the movie isn't on! :D ~Chris
