Dragon Boat - 20 people, 1 boat, lots of new friends...

Do you want to get in shape, make new friends, be part of a team?

Have you heard for Dragon Boating before?  It's an exciting sport, that consists of 12-20 men and women paddle together to drive their boats to the finish line the fastest.

This is a trial session and if you love it... and want to experience it in a live race, feel free to sign up and join the team to compete in the Flushing Queens Dragon Boat race in August.

Where: Worlds Fair Marina (7 Train to Citi Field, then walk towards the water)
When: Saturday Morning
Time: 8:30 - 10am

Cost: $5

Level: All Skill Levels welcomed From "Never done it" to  "Do it every year".  If you have any medical issues, tire easy or have trouble with physical activities we advise you not to attend this one.

What to bring
- 2 bottles of water
- Towel
- Bathing suit & clothes that can get wet
- Dry change of clothes

- Is there parking?  Yes it's free
- I can't swim is it okay? Yes, everyone gets a life vest

What does it include?
- Basics in paddling
- Paddling in the boat
- A very unique way to make friends

SOCIAL ASPECT: Groups of people from High School, College and the Corporate community all take part in this activity. Building a friendship and a strong boat is key.

WORKOUT: Arms, Back, legs, shoulder, and everything else is hurting after a paddle. Stamina and muscle is built throughout the year to get that long, heavy boat moving quickly in the water.

ACCOMPLISHMENT: Some of us look forward to wining medals at a race, but a lot of us try to work hard so we push our bodies farther than we thought we could. That is my major accomplishment.

ATMOSPHERE: There's nothing like taking a boat out on the water early morning... with the sun just rising up or at night with the calm water, or sun setting then the moon and stars out. Even though your paddling hard, it's still a really nice getaway for a few hours.
