Potluck fellowship and Bible Study on "Let Hope In"

Details
After we survive the snow this week, it looks like there is a warming trend--finally! The weather for Saturday looks great!
Please join us for the second session, called "Hope Found" on Saturday, March 8 from 6-8 p.m.
This study will show us that if we seek Christ, we find hope. The study will center around Matthew 8:1-13. Two things to ponder before we meet:
-
What does hope look like for you?
-
"There are two very different types of hope in this world. One is hoping for something and the other is hoping in someone." Pete Wilson
We are averaging 30 people each month. Make sure everyone brings a substantial dish to contribute to the meal .
HOPE CHANGES EVERYTHING!
It can disarm guilt, shatter shame, and put your past in its place. All you have to do is make the choice to let it in. It won’t be easy. It won’t be quick. But it is possible and we serve a God who promises over and over again that anything is possible.
Pete Wilson, pastor and the author of "Plan B," presents a new look at the power of healing through hope, revealing 4 unique choices that have the potential to change your life forever.
-
Choosing to transform instead of transfer
-
Choosing to be OK with not being OK
-
Choosing to trust rather than please
-
Choosing to free people rather than hurt them
With Wilson’s telltale cadence and candor, Let Hope In explores accounts of seemingly hopeless moments in the Bible; illustrating God’s ultimate plan for healing by letting hope fill the dark places of your past.
Discover how pain that is not transformed, becomes transferred. Embrace the freedom of being okay with not being okay. Learn that a life of trusting is far more magnificent than a life of pleasing. Because hurt people, hurt people, but free people have the power to free people.
So make today the day that you get unstuck. The day you fill your past with the light of hope, the day you say good-bye to regret and shame. The day you choose to change your future and embrace who God created you to be, simply by making the choice to let hope in.
I am really excited about studying this life-changing book! This is the third Pete Wilson book this group has studied and we have been truly blessed and inspired!
For more information, check out the website at http://www.lethopein.com/#home-page .
Everyone will need to order their own book. The best place to get it is Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/Let-Hope-Choices-Change-Forever/dp/0849964563 . I have purchased the small group leader kit, which includes an instructional DVD for six sessions. I highly recommend purchasing a member guide, which we use to discuss after each DVD session, which you can order for $5.95 at http://www.lifeway.com/n/product-family/bible-studies-for-life-small-group-studies/let-hope-in.
Here is how the group works:
We all come together for a pot luck dinner and fellowship beginning at 6 pm sharp. Everyone needs to bring a substantial dish to contribute. We eat and fellowship from 6-7 pm. Then from 7-8 pm we show a short DVD presentation from the book on a specific topic and then have table discussions.
It is up to you if you desire to order the book and member guide, just the book, or just the member guide for personal study after the DVD presentation.
Others may just want to come for fellowship and just watch the DVD presentation and enter into table discussions--it is up to you--there is NO required reading to come. But to get the most out of the study it is recommended to buy the book and/or member guide.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to message me.
