What we're about

The purpose of this group is to provide opportunities for single Christian men and women to have fun and share enjoyable experiences with each other. It is a place where you can meet and connect with others who have common interests and shared values.

The focus of this meetup group is on social events that will provide an environment where single Christian men and women can connect socially and form friendships and lasting relationships.

The age range of members in this group is from mid 40's to mid 60's with most members in their 50's.

Most of our events are located in and around the Central Maryland area, between Baltimore and Washington. We occasionally have an activity that takes us out of our local area, including Northern Virginia and/or North of Baltimore.

As the organizer, I have a passion for engaging people, creating community and facilitating connections. I enjoy being around groups of people when they are interacting and enjoying one another's companionship. I sincerely believe that as Christians, we "belong to one another".

• For just as each of us has one body with many parts, and these parts do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

• Romans 12: 4-5

I believe that if we are disconnected from other people, we are often also disconnected from God, and by connecting with others who follow Jesus we will be encouraged in our spiritual life.

This group is not affiliated with a specific church or religious denomination. We are a social group of single Christians who come from various spiritual backgrounds. We share a common faith in Christ Jesus and we enjoy getting together to have fun times and make memories.

I look forward to meeting you at an upcoming event.

Singles Sunday Afternoon Life Group: Wholeness

The Bowie Singles Life Group is launching a new 12-week series on Wholeness beginning this Sunday, March 1. I hope you can join us! Place: Grace Baptist Church auxiliary campus Jireh Place, 3121 Trinity Drive, Bowie, MD Time: Sunday afternoons, March 1-May 17, from 3-5pm. Who: Both men and women. Cost: Free! Many single men & women live with doubts and fears, often due to previous unhealthy relationships that have stripped them of self-confidence. Loss, injustice, life circumstances, and disappointments compound these insecurities and turn them into limitations. They are afraid to take another risk, thinking that it will only end again in yet another failure. We struggle with low self-esteem, wrong self-definition, negative self-talk, misplaced identity, and wrong mindsets. God wants to heal and restore these broken areas of our lives! In this 12-week study we will delve into what it means to be a WHOLE single. The five truths that we will cover are how to be: 1: Well 2: Healthy 3: On-Fire 4: Loving 5: Empowered This initial meeting will be a “First Look” at the study and will serve to give you information on what the study will cover, to see if it is a right fit for you. We will talk about which resources we will use. It will also be a “Meet & Greet,” as a large part of the study will be small group sharing. Leaders: Linda Blachly and Andy Dove will be leading/facilitating our time together. We are both members of Grace Baptist Church, which generously opens up its auxiliary location, Jireh Place, for us. Food & Fellowship Possibilities: Because the study ends around 5pm, we have the option to extend our time together with a meal at a local restaurant. In addition, this group regularly gets together for fellowship and fun outside of the study, for movies, game nights and other fun events. We hope you will join us!
