About us
The SF Video Technology meetup is for anyone interested in the underlying technology behind video and video publishing: HTML5 video, streaming, transcoding, codecs, advertising, open standards, and more. We will focus on the engineering side and not the creative side, but creatives are welcome.

SFVideo returns: HTTP3 at Discord, MoQ, and the path to Video.js 10
Mux HQ Speakeasy, 585 Market St, San Francisco, CA, USNOTE: We're migrating to Luma. I'll keep posting events for a bit here since we can't export membership, but you'll want to subscribe/RSVP over there 🙏
SF Video is back, baby. For > 10 years we didn't miss a month...and then I had twins and we didn't do a single meetup in 2025. My bad.
## This month's speakers
Steve Heffernan, aka Heff (Mux) - "Matt's making me give yet another talk on video.js" (but, in my defense, this one goes to v10)
Scott Kidder (Discord) - "HTTP/3 and CDN Topology Optimizations at Discord"
Luke Curley, aka kixelated (moq.dev / hang.live) - "Something about MoQ, ofc"## The new experiment
The monthly meetup was tough as an organizer. There were brief periods where we'd have a few months worth of speakers lined up and everything was glorious, but generally it was me scrambling to find a few every month.
For this year, at least to start, we're going to try going bigger with 1-2 meetups a quarter. Maybe we'll settle on bi-monthly. I dunno, we're figuring it out again. Everything's on the table.
Oh we're also migrating to Luma from Meetup. I'll be cross-posting events to the old home since you can't export members, but...theoretically we'll eventually just be able to keep things here.10 attendees
