Let's Take a Hike: John Husar I & M Canal Trail

Let's take a Hike. This will be a 8.5 mile loop on a paved trail. We will try to make it in 3 hours. Please dress accordingly. Don't forget to bring water and snack for the hike.

We will start by going over the bridge on Willow Springs road and pick up the Centennial trail on the other side of the river (Yellow Trail). We'll head west to Route 83, go over the bridge and loop back on the John Husar Trail (Red Trail).

We will meet at 9:15 and start the hike at 9:30 sharp.

Directions:

From I-80 go North on LaGrange Road. Follow the signs to Archer Ave (Rt. 171) west. Take Archer to Willow Springs Road. Take the 1st street past Willow Springs road (Willow Blvd, blue Metra sign). Turn right on Willow Blvd. Going north to the stop, right again to the next stop and then left over the railroad tracks. Park in the parking lot that is just north of the railroad tracks.

After the hike, we will head to Irish Legend in Willow Spring for a bite (2 blocks west on Archer Ave).
