Secular Family Picnic and Future Event Planning

It's time to create a family component to SacFAN!

If you have children of any age, your family is invited to our first Secular Family Day.

We'll hang out in the park, play games, eat, and figure out the kinds of events we want to have in the future.

Bring a blanket or chairs, sunscreen, and whatever else you need to make the day great.

Food and Drink

You're on your own for food and drink, but feel free to bring something to share.

Fun

Bring a few outdoor games to play and we'll figure out what to do when everyone is there.

Post Event Concert

If you like, stick around the park because at 6pm, we'll be entertained with a free Music in the Park event!

Held the last Sunday of June, July and August, Music in the Park is a free summer concert series at the north end of Curtis Park. This annual event is the perfect time to relax with your family, friends and neighbors. With a blanket and picnic basket you can enjoy the music in a wonderful outdoor venue.

RSVPing

If you can make it, RSVP and please count others in your family as guests so we have a good guess for attendees.

Spread the word to other secular families.

Please use the conversation area below to talk about activities and future event ideas.

We met up with some terrific families on a lovely afternoon, made connections, and generated lots of exciting ideas for upcoming meetups! Watch for more family meetups coming up soon. (And remember - you are welcome to attend even without kids!)

I love this-an activity with kids! Wish I could go with my 3, but one of them has a soccer tournament in Santa Cruz, so that's where we will be.

That's alright, Dina. I suspect (and hope) that this will turn into a monthly thing. Go team!

If someone can bring 5 tent stakes or stick stakes and a bunch of croquet balls I would be willing to teach folks how to play the Cherokee game of degadayos. Think giant marbles meets bocci ball. If you can bring these things and want to learn the game (pretty easy to learn) let me know.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
