Welcome to the San Diego Writers Meet-Up Group!
The San Diego Writers group is for anyone who shares an enthusiasm for writing. Our focus is on writing, reviewing each others work and motivating each other to get our projects done. If you are looking for honest and helpful critique of your writing, this group is for you. If you are unwilling or unable to handle honest and constructive feedback of your work, this group is not for you.
When you complete your profile requirements for new members, please send me a writing sample, less than 500 words of your writing using the email application on our meetup site to be considered. IF YOU DO NOT SEND A WRITING SAMPLE YOU WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Look on the left side of the home page under Organizers and click on Allen. Click on email and send me a short sample of your work. Without a writing sample your request will not be accepted. Unfortunately not everyone interested can be accepted. Just show me you can write a couple intelligible paragraphs. No memoirs please. Thank you...Allen
We meet four to six times each month in San Diego!

Inviting writers in all genres, published or not, to share work and provide constructive feedback in an informal, supportive environment. Also to share experiences in publishing process and make friends with fellow writers.
We use a secure file sharing system to submit, review, receive encouragement, advice and critical feedback on our writing. Our meetings consist of feedback about these submissions where ideas are freely shared.
Our aim for feedback is honesty and encouragement. When offering feedback, we ask you to be sincere - it does nobody any good to be told that their painful text is great - but at the same time to be constructive. Aim to balance things you liked with things you think could be improved, and to give the writer some suggestions about ways to improve in a constructive manner.
The group is centered on helping each other and motivating each other to succeed in their writing goals.
The group is not just about critiques, it's also about helping with that tricky plot, discussion of characterization, ideas on publishers to approach and the benefits of self-publishing. Learn how to take your book ideas and make them real and actually make money. Learn how to promote yourself and your business with your writing. This will be a helpful and supportive group that will be open to anything at all that would be helpful with your writing.
We meet every Sat and every other Weds in San Diego. During the summer we meet every Weds as well.
The synergy of the group will push you forward in your writing. You will learn to be a better public speaker and have a great resource of inspiration and motivation.
*** You need to have attended at least one Writers Meet-Up to be included on the email list to review Writers submissions. You do not need to submit work to attend, but you must have attended a meet-up to submit work for review. THX!
***This groups focus is on Writing...not marketing. Publishers are welcome as long as they do not spam members.
***Inactive members will be terminated after 90 days...this just means visiting the site...we want you to participate in meetings...that's what Meet-Up is all about...but if you haven't visited your Writers profile in 90 days we will terminate you...Ouch!
*** There NEVER is a charge for the meet-ups...but please come hungry and order something to eat...it makes our sponsor happy to host us...THX!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
