INVITE FRIENDS: If you want to try out an e-bike, check well in advance with local stores about one-day rentals. Ask if they have a special rate for SF Bay Area e-Bike Meetup outing. And feel free to invite very able riders of non e-bikes, who you think will be able to keep up. (This event is non-commercial; though it may may be sponsored/supported by local stores or bike makers, there will be no overt marketing/sales.)

VARIANT FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS A LONGER RIDE: The “Doing Paradise” loop has long been popular among distance riders in San Francisco, and some of you may prefer to bike back rather than take the ferry. See the description of this 38 miles/1600 feet elevation, round-trip route from Crissy Field via Corte Madera; it skips Belvedere Island: http://www.7x7.com/fitness-outdoors/ultimate-sunday-ride-paradise-loop
