NOTE: Leopard sharks are harmless to humans.

Bring the wife, husband, kids, and friends to this exciting event! The leopard sharks of La Jolla congregate every summer and this is the best time to see them. Come have some fun with your family and friends and discover one of San Diego's best kept secrets! (Not really a secret!)

COST: Free

ARRIVE TIME: 7:30 am (because parking will suck)

IN-WATER TIME: 8:00 am - 8:30 am (or whenever you like!)

EQUIPMENT: You provide all your own snorkel equipment. Mask, fins, snorkel (booties and thin wetsuit would be nice as well... or heavy sunblock on your back.)

HOW TO DO IT:

#1: First and foremost yez gots to float on the surface MOTIONLESS and let THEM come to YOU. Your movement, even the twitch of an arm or leg, will scare them away!

#2: Some people like to just stand and watch. That's ok, but please don't move and stomp around.

#3: Do not try to touch the sharks. They are amazingly gentle, skittish creatures... and present no harm to humans... but any wild animal, when grabbed or provoked, may act in an unpredictable manner.
