This is an absolute "No-Flake" event.

BAR-B-Q after the dive! Power Scuba is bringing some meat for the grill. You bring a side to share and a beverage.

You've got your cert card, you know your skills, but maybe you've been out of the water for a few months. Maybe San Diego diving is new to you. Maybe you're a brand new diver. Wouldn't it be great to be paired up with a strong, experienced diver who can share his/her knowledge and suggestions with you? Someone to go under with you who has a watchful eye? Someone you KNOW won't abandon or ignore you?

That is precisely what this event is offering! Experienced divers who know their stuff... ready and willing to be your partner! No more excuses... time to get in the water. Spring is here!

There will be a pool of experienced divers waiting to buddy up with you! Get there early to have time for talking and meeting others.

The following dive shops/instructors have agreed to send experienced staff to supplement our pool of talent:

Unified Team Diving (http://www.unifiedteamdiving.com/) (Carlsbad): Primary, Advanced, Side Mount, and Technical training with local instructors. Join our "Thinking Team." UTD is global community, training agency, and dedicated equipment.

This will not be a "Scuba Review Class" or anything similar... just one diver helping another. (If you need a Review class then PLEASE take a Review class at a local shop!)

Bring your cert card. No card, no dive!

Don't RSVP "Yes" here unless you mean it. (Don't take a spot away from somebody else if you're not serious about attending.)

Get there early because parking can indeed suck!

There will be no professional or teaching relationship between divers... either real or implied. The organizer (Bill Powers) is not "leading" this event... rather he is facilitating the meeting of the listed divers in order to maximize comfort levels and enjoyment of the dive.

If you have not filled out a liability release for Power Scuba Meetup, please follow this link to the file, print, sign and bring to the event, along with your C-Card (scuba certification card). You only need to do this once per year: Liability Release and Assumption of Risk (http://files.meetup.com/1307107/New_Liability_Release.doc) Failure to sign a liability release constitutes an immediate disallowance from participating in the event.

Anyone with a medical condition possibly counter-indicitive to diving must have a doctors signature on a diving waiver form and submit signed form to Bill Powers (or an organizer) before they may attend any Power Scuba event. YOU MAY NOT ATTEND AN EVENT WITH AN UNDISCLOSED MEDICAL CONDITION. Doing so is grounds for expulsion from the group. Attending any scuba event Power Scuba facilitates constitues attendee's affirmation they are medically fit to dive and have submitted a signed Liability Release to an organizer.
